Bloodshed Sound Like Cleveland Moved to Los Angeles

Bloodshed are a Los Angeles metallic hardcore band that sound like they were raised in Cleveland. Members of Momentum, Human Garbage, and Upon Stone, riffs pulled straight from Integrity and Ringworm, and a guitar tone borrowed from early Obituary. If you missed the demo, the new single is your second chance.

Who are Bloodshed?

An LA band built from people already doing damage elsewhere — Momentum, Human Garbage, and Upon Stone. No Echo put them at the top of its 12 Newer Hardcore Bands to Check Out in 2026 list, calling their sound “pure Cleveland by way of Los Angeles.”

What do they actually sound like?

The band named their own influences to No Echo: “Our main influences are Integrity, Ringworm, and In Cold Blood. We try to mix all of that with early Obituary, especially in our guitar tone.”

That's not a vague genre gesture. That's a specific and correct answer. Evil metallic hardcore, Holy Terror lineage, and a filthy death metal guitar sound sitting under it.

What should I listen to first?

  1. “Abhorrence” (2026) — the new single, featuring Dan Longo of Laid 2 Rest on guest vocals. Out via DAZE.
  2. The 2025 demo — landed on No Echo's Best Hardcore Demos of 2025 list.
  3. The Four Corners of Chaos split — their other early appearance.
  4. The debut EP — the band told No Echo it's coming. That's the one to watch for.

Why does the recording sound that heavy?

Because of who touched it. “Abhorrence” was recorded and mixed by Andrew Solis, who plays in Nails, and mastered by Nick Townsend. That is not an accident of tone. That's a band choosing people who already know how to make something sound genuinely mean.

Why they matter right now

Cleveland's Holy Terror sound — Integrity, Ringworm, In Cold Blood — has been imitated badly for thirty years. Most bands take the aesthetic and skip the menace. Bloodshed took the menace.

They're also a reminder that the interesting stuff is still on demos and splits, not on festival posters. You have to actually go looking. Dress accordingly — the Tyrant tee holds up in a room with no air conditioning.
