Oversized vs. Regular Fit Gym Tees: How to Choose

Buy oversized if you want a relaxed, drop-shoulder look that moves with you — take your normal size. Buy regular fit if you want the shirt closer to the body — or size down one in an oversized cut to get there. For most lifters chasing the streetwear-meets-gym look, oversized in your true size is the move.

What "oversized" actually means

A real oversized tee isn't just a size up — it's cut with a wider body and a dropped shoulder seam that sits below your natural shoulder. That's what gives the relaxed, boxy hang. A shirt that's just sized up looks like a shirt that's sized up.

How to size a drop-shoulder tee

Take your normal size for the intended oversized look. Want it closer to the body? Size down one. Our heavyweight tees run true to size in the oversized cut — body length runs roughly 29½" (M) to 32½" (2XL). Check the size guide on any product page.

Oversized for training

Room through the chest and shoulders means nothing binds when you press or pull. The dropped shoulder means the seam isn't digging in mid-set. And at 240 GSM, the extra fabric still holds its shape instead of ballooning.

When regular fit wins

If you layer under a jacket, prefer a cleaner silhouette, or just don't want the extra fabric, go closer to the body — size down in an oversized cut, or pick a standard tee. Same 240 GSM either way; the fit is the only variable.

Pick the cut, not the costume. Start with the Tyrant or Varsity.

FAQ

Should I size up for an oversized tee?
No — a true oversized cut is already boxy with a dropped shoulder, so your normal size gives the intended look. Size down one only if you want it slimmer.

Is oversized good for the gym?
Yes — the extra room through the chest and dropped shoulder let you move freely. Just make sure it's a real heavyweight so it holds shape instead of flapping.

How do I know my size?
Check the body-length and chest measurements in the size guide on each product page and compare to a shirt you already like.
